Luke Harris

Associate Director

Luke Harris is an award–winning writer/director from New Orleans, Louisiana.

Luke studied film at USC’s School of Cinematic Arts, majoring in Film & Television Production while serving as President of the African American Cinema Society, founded by John Singleton.

As a narrative thesis, he wrote and edited The First Day of Being Black, which won a Jury Award at the student DGA Awards. His student drama series, Provenance, also won Best Drama at the College Television Awards and received selection to the SeriesFest.

In 2022, Luke won the #CreateLouisiana French Cultural Film Grant for his film Tambou, which premiered at the 26th French Film Festival, and was recognized as a Finalist at the New Orleans Film Festival’s South Pitch.

In 2023, Luke was selected into the 2023 NOFS Emerging Voices Director’s Lab, as well as the New Orleans Video Access Center’s documentary cohort (NOVAC).

His film Pam was distributed by Omeletto and has amassed over 500k views online.

Currently, Luke is working on an upcoming film titled You Will Not Replace Us, which he is co-directing with Landport co-founder Josh Greene. Jack Lattin is also attached to the project as Director of Photography. The short-subject documentary drama confronts the complex and intricate relationship between Black and Jewish communities in the United States. ​

Luke is also nearing production for his first feature film debut. He is currently based in New Orleans and travels to Los Angeles periodically for various projects.
