Meet Karl-Erik Mills

Cinematographer-In-Residence

Karl-Erik is a Writer, Director, and Director of Photography. His projects include narrative films, music videos, animation, and documentaries, which have gone on to win awards at festivals and competitions across the country.

He grew up between the Bay Area and the Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York, where he cut his cloth making ambitious run-and-gun short films, while embracing the dramatic natural environments.

He graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara, with a degree in Film and Media Studies. He now lives in Los Angeles and collaborates with Landport and its members on a variety of narrative, documentary, and commercial projects.

His artistic and aesthetic preferences are based in experimental and impressionistic cinematography, analog mediums, and transcendental animation; all of which have an influence on his work both personally, and professionally.
